Delivery truck crashes into outdoor dining pod at Tria Cafe in Rittenhouse Square – CBS Philly

Fortunately, no one was in this exterior pod at the time of the accident.

From above, Chopper 3 shows an outdoor catering capsule that was dragged down the middle of the street by a delivery truck. It happened here at 18th and Sansom Streets in the city center just outside the Tria Cafe.

Fortunately, no one was inside the basket and no one was injured.

But now the crews say the only way to move the pod is in pieces.

“We have to demolish everything. They want to keep whatever is salvageable, but for the most part we try to get it out as quickly as possible, ”said entrepreneur Wallace Johnson.

“We have water fountains, gnomes and we have fun with hanging gardens,” said Rouge owner Rob Wasserman.

Its outdoor dining area has been transformed into a garden with spring accents.

“We’re lucky to be in Rittenhouse Square which gives us an added edge, but still it’s something to have an experience so people can come in and feel relaxed and at ease, especially during that time, ”Wasserman said. noted.

“I think it’s really good and they did a good job and it looks really nice. That’s kind of the reason we came here because we were like, ‘Oh. it’s pretty. We should eat here, ”said the Savannah Silver restaurant.

“It’s really cool, I like all the greenery. It’s very springtime, ”said Julia Carroll.
